Ahhhh! My First Purse!!!

First I took a pair of jeans that I hated and cut one of threw one of the thighs for the purse and the other for lining.

Then I crazy quilted starting in the center of the right side and going around and then just sewing a large piece of white over on the left. Then it was time for the embroidery. I chose the challenge from the Hand Embroidery group I am in. There were 8 herbs to choose from. I do realize that my colors aren't quite right but I was just going for pretty and fast so I used whatever I could grab in my bag of extra flosses. Dill was the first choice.
Then Thyme.
Then Chives.
On the back of the purse I put Marjoram. Not sure what this is but that is ok.
Hmmmmm, everything on this purse was made from scraps and so it cost me nothing. What could I use as the strap that would be strong and yet cute? Oh ya, this belt that I never use and it even matches my colors. Woohoo!!!It turned out so adorable. My first thought was to slap it together to see if it would work and now I reallly love it!!! I can't believe that I did this! You can do anything if you put your mind to it!
Big Hugs to EVERYONE!!!

Beautiful. Did you have a pattern? did you do all the embroidery by hand or part machine? I really want to make one now!

What a great idea to use the blue jeans as a foundation. I love your pretty herb garden all done up in stitches. Way to go!
