New Things I have been trying

These are some of the embroidery I have been doing. When these are done (there will be four) I will frame them and put them around a beautiful painting that my grandma did on the wall of my livingroom. I am really excited to be displaying some embroidery that I am actually keeping for myself. I really love this new hobby and art form. It is fun, beautiful, and I just love it.
The top picture is a kind of thread painting, which I really love to do. I love the idea of drawing with thread and I usually have to do at least one of these in everything I make. The second one is also a favorite. It is the first time I have ever made a flower like that out of silk ribbon. Also, the couched ribbon looks really neat to me and the swirly green is something I do often. The third block is my most favorite. I got this silky with this girl on it from Lindy in the very first Round Robin that I have done. I was so excited and now I am wishing I had sent gifts to everyone. Anyway, the silky is tacked to my block by silk ribbon. Thank you Lindy. Thank you Melissa for helping me with these photos. I love you all!!! Wendy
