So if you are wondering what I have been up to lately here it is. I have been trying to get this pillow started and underway as a present for Melissa. The inspiration is from
Melissa herself. She has taught me all these wonderful techniques and I wanted to make her something really wonderful that was something to her taste.

Above is the complete block done.

G and M are for Melissa and her husbands initials.

This is their wedding date and some beautiful aloncon lace that we were able to cute off of an old wedding dress.

My favorite swirls are so fun to do. Then I showered it with roses and sprinkled it with beads.

One of my favorite parts of this pillow is these roses. I can't believe that the silk here stood up to the size of these roses.

This is the pillow completely done with a crochet lace edging. The reason I didn't blog this before is that it was a surprise for
Melissa. I gave it to her today. She has been such a great friend to me and I really appreciate her. It was kind of my small way to say that I am so happy to have her as a friend and sister in Christ. God has truly brought her into my life to pray with me through my struggles and to laugh with me through my joys.

Hi Wendy,
I've been trying since yesterday to post here to tell you this pillow is absolutely beautiful. Lucky Melissa! How did you do the initials? Is it threadpainting?
I love it all, and the crocheted edging is just perfect! I'll bet she was very pleased.
